The Discoverers
Members of the Discoverers Theatre Group showcase their acting and singing talents. The Discoverers are a theatre group of adults with learning disabilities who have been meeting at the Newhampton Arts Centre for over three years and taken part in a number of productions and festivals.

ROOM TO BREATHE
Void Physical Theatre
The drawing back of dusty curtains . . . the aroma of fresh paint . . . the unpacking of boxes - a new house, a new life, a fresh start. But as the furniture is positioned perfectly and the china is carefully unwrapped, a young couple struggle with the harrowing realisation that they may have unpacked something they did not intend to take.
The first company of this kind conceived in the Midlands, Void Physical Theatre challenges the boundaries of physical theatre. This dynamic new company was founded by graduates of Wolverhampton University and is dedicated to making work which is both visually and emotionally stunning and intellectually stimulating.

INTRODUCTION TO PHYSICALITY
Void Theatre Workshop
This lively half-term workshop with Void Theatre, will introduce you to new and exciting ways in which the body can be used, including body awareness, choreography and contact improvisation. As a bonus the company will demonstrate some key moves from "Room to Breathe" as well as giving away some rehearsal secrets!
If you enjoy drama and want to try something different, this is a great opportunity to extend your skills.

Storyteller Jonathan Collings invites you to pull stories out of his magic box: stories from now and then, near and far. And then he will invite you to create a brand new story out of the mysterious objects within.

SHIRLEY HOMES and THE CASE OF THE STOLEN STORIES
Gazebo Theatre in Education Company
Our story begins at bedtime, on a typical Wednesday evening, in a typical Midlands town. As thousands of parents go to read their children a bedtime story, they find - to their dismay - that all the books are blank. The stories have been stolen!
Shirley Homes (The great, great, great granddaughter of the third cousin, several times removed of the famous detective Sherlock Holmes) and her new assistant soon become involved in searching for the stolen stories and tracking down the culprit.
This interactive performance for 5-7 year olds lasts approximately 45 minutes and can accommodate up to 40. Please book in advance.

SUKARMA
Sukarma are leading exponents of Nepalese Folk and Classical Music. Formed in 1997, Sukarma literally means ‘Good deeds’, which the group aim to express by the music they perform. Their mission is to popularize and redefine Nepali Folk and Classical music. They are visiting England as part of the Nepal Himalayan Festival. This is a rare opportunity to experience Nepalese music.
The talented trio, who have toured in Europe, America, India and Japan, are:-
Dr Dhrubesh Chandra Regmi (sitar )
Sitar maestro, Drubesh, comes from one of the greatest Nepalese musical families. He is the recipient of numerous prestigious musical awards and prizes in Nepal and India.
Shyam Nepali (sarangi) started playing sarangi at the age of 8, and made his first public appearance the Royal Nepal Academy at the age of 15. His sarangi playing reflects the typical Nepali style, which is remarkably soft and melodious. His recordings include 10 publications and he is one of the most noteworthy young instrumentalists of Nepal.
Pramod Upadhyaya (Percussion) is a well known, versatile musician, his talented in both tabla and singing. His first public performance in Nepal as a tabla sSoloist was at the age of 5 at the Royal Nepal Academy, where the members of the audience included the late King Birendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev.
