Cotton Eye Joe he say:"Doh!"
A leaflet about recycling issued by Birmingham City Council was recently printed with a photograph of the skyline of Birmingham, Alabama on the front cover instead of the skyline of Birmingham, UK (otherwise known as "the proper Birmingham").
A city resident named Jon Cooper of King’s Norton, spotted the error in the leaflet Recycle: Your Questions Answered.
A Birmingham City Council spokesperson described the offending photo as “a generic skyline picture”. But as Harry Hill would say "what are the chances of that happening then, eh? Hmmm. Eh?"
The Birmingham City Council spokesperson added that the leaflet would not be reprinted. But let's just hope it's at least recycled!
According to The Times "In January West Midlands’ Conservative MEPs made the same mistake on their website".
Still, it's not as bad as the company who printed last year's Birmingham City FC diary with Aston Villa's history in the front section. And people keep telling me I could do with a proof reader!
