Birmingham Hippodrome coffee sales help support Amazon Charity.

With a newly opened Deli Bar in the theatre foyer, Birmingham Hippodrome has taken one small step towards saving the rainforest.

The Hippodrome’s Deli Bar is an exciting new addition to the theatre’s hospitality service and its coffee is supplied by Cafe Resource and Grosvenor Continental. Some of the proceeds from
every sale at the theatre are donated through the Cool Earth Charity (Registered Charity No. 1117978) to purchase endangered rainforest which can help protect against development in the Amazon.

In addition to serving delicious Fairtrade Organic espresso, lots of the Deli Bar food is sourced locally helping to minimise the harmful effects of long haul transportation.

Since opening this spring, the Hippodrome’s Deli Bar has already sold enough coffee to support one whole acre of endangered Amazonian rainforest, which will lock in an incredible 260 tonnes of CO2.

Gary Aymes, Birmingham Hippodrome’s Director of Hospitality and Service said: “Birmingham Hippodrome is always on the lookout for ways to make an impact and, wherever possible,
extend our green credentials. Working with Cafe Resource and Grosvenor Continental, does just that. We are delighted that through this initiative, Birmingham Hippodrome and its audience
have together helped to protect an acre of rainforest!”
