The season gets off to a thrilling start with the Agatha Christie classic, Spider’s Web (1 – 5 Sept), followed by a series of week-long shows including Porridge (7 – 12 Sept) starring Shaun Williamson, Dreamboats and Petticoats (14 – 19 Sept), Last of the Summer Wine (21 – 26 Sept) featuring Ruth Madoc and Steve Pinder and the hit stage adaptation of The Who’s landmark album Quadrophenia (29 Sept – 3 Oct).
The Belgrade’s successful Midday Variety shows continue on the Main Stage on 10 Sept, 15 Oct and 19 Nov. The Mu Mu Club arrives in the Belgrade’s B2 auditorium from 10 – 12 Sept and 1 -3 Oct and provides children with a perfect first experience of theatre with storytelling, live drama and song.

The first of a series of late night comedy shows brought to the Belgrade by Underbelly Live begin on 11 Sept, featuring some of the best comedic talent from far and wide, including Lucy Porter (pictured above). The other comedy nights will follow on 17 Oct, 20 Nov and 16 Jan.
The laughs continue with Sammy J and the Forest of Dreams in B2 on 19 Sept. A hit at the Edinburgh Festival, comedian Sammy J teams up with puppeteer Heath McIvor for skewed tales from childhood that are definitely not for kids!

Coventry’s very own Hazel O’Connor (pictured above) will be making a rare hometown performance with her Beyond Breaking Glass autobiographical show in B2 on 9 Oct.
An early highlight of the season is a Belgrade Theatre co-production with Vanishing Point and The Royal Lyceum, in association with Tramway, of John Gray’s musical masterpiece The Beggar’s Opera, which plays on the Main Stage from 9 – 24 Oct. This is a new adaptation of the classic satire which promises to be theatrical, musical and mischievous.
The groundbreaking audio visual performance Mother India 21st Century Remix shows in B2 on 10 Oct.
The second Belgrade Theatre production of the season will be the gripping thriller Babylone. Set in Paris, this chilling play is reminiscent of classic film noir and will run in B2 from 24 Oct – 14 Nov.

A week of one-night music shows play on the Main Stage from 26 - 31 Oct, starting with an evening of ‘60s and ‘70s classics with Back to the Cavern (26 Oct). This is swiftly followed by The Vagina Monologues featuring Lesley Joseph (27 Oct), Clive Baldwin’s Jolson Show (28 Oct), Let’s Hang On (29 Oct), Des O’Connor (Fri 30 Oct) and The Image of Cliff Richard and the Shadows (31 Oct).
The Royal Shakespeare Company comes to the Belgrade Theatre with Roy Williams’ critically acclaimed and blisteringly topical play Days of Significance (3 -7 Nov). This timely and explosive play examines the aftermath of a war whose conflicts rage far beyond the battleground.

Moscow Ballet - La Classique performs one of the jewels of classical ballet, Nutcracker from 9 – 10 Nov (pictured above).
A run of one-night shows are next up on the Main Stage, comprising Rockin’ On Heaven’s Door (11 Nov), Buddy Holly and the Cricketers (12 Nov), One Night of Queen (13 Nov) and The Magic of Motown (14 Nov).
Martin McDonagh’s darkly comic tale Beauty Queen of Leenane plays in B2 from 17 – 21 Nov. London Classic Theatre’s version of this multi award-winning classic is a gripping blend of dark comedy, melodrama, horror and tragedy.
The tradition of family pantomime at the Belgrade continues this year with a spectacular re-telling of the enchanting Beauty and the Beast from 1 Dec to 9 Jan. The show is once again written by Iain Lauchlan and Will Brenton and stars Belgrade favourite, Andy Hockley

The festive cheer continues with the Cheeky Chappies Christmas Cracker (7 – 23 Dec) in B2. This unforgettable show, packed full of mirth, merriment and tomfoolery is so cheeky it’s recommended for adults only!
The Circus of Horrors (pictured above) starts the new year with a bang on the Belgrade’s Main Stage with their shocking new show, The Day of the Dead (13 Jan), featuring some of the world’s most grotesque, daring and bizarre Circus acts.
How Sweet It Is – Motown’s Greatest Hits (19 – 21 Jan) returns to the Belgrade, celebrating 50 years of the sweet sound of Motown. Followed by Half Way to Paradise – the Billy Fury Story (22 Jan), with the great man’s original band from the ‘70s – Fury's Tornados.
Mercurial Dance bring their new show for 7 – 14 year olds, Risky Business to B2 from 22 - 23 Jan and Jake & Elwood return to the Main Stage with their Blues Brothers tribute show on 23 Jan.
Following his hugely successful production of The Hypochondriac, Belgrade Artistic Director, Hamish Glen, will direct another of Molière’s comic masterpieces on the Main Stage. The Miser (30 Jan – 13 Feb) is a classic comedy full of set pieces, slapstick, stand-up and brilliant one-liners that are as funny and accessible today as they ever were.
Following last year’s half-term hit, Horrible Histories, Horrible Science arrives at the Belgrade from 16 – 20 Feb to give children the grisly low-down on the world of science.
The last Belgrade production of the season will be the darkly surreal comedy, The Dark Side of Buffoon (27 Feb – 20 Mar). This brand new play will run in B2 and is written by and stars Coventry born actor/writer brothers John and Martin Marquez, who are currently on our screens in TV hits Hotel Babylon and Doc Martin.
Traces brings our Autumn/Winter season to a close when it rolls up in B2 from 4 – 6 Mar, featuring a dazzling display of urban acrobatics.
