WHO CAN RECREATE PARIS IN THE CENTRE OF BIRMINGHAM? BULLRING CAN-CAN

Paris, France has spawned many copies – 32 in fact – as far apart as Belarus, Texas, or the island of Kiribati in the central Pacific Ocean, but for the only replica of the French capital in the UK look no further than Bullring Birmingham.

This year the region’s Number One retail destination has recreated the chic city in the centre of Birmingham, including mime artists, caricaturists and Can-Can dancers. And in common with other replica Paris’ such as Paris, Tennessee and Paris, Texas, Paris, Bullring features a 12 foot high version of the Eiffel Tower.

To get into the French spirit, Bullring is hosting a mass Can-Can dance to launch its summer event. Tim Walley, general manager, said “We are bringing the joy-de-vivre of Paris to the heart of Birmingham, and we are inviting everyone to come down to St Martin’s Square at Bullring for 2pm on July 27 to participate in a mass Can-Can dance to be in with a chance of winning a holiday to Paris.”

To be in with a chance of winning a holiday for four people to either Paris, New York or Madrid, get your photograph taken at one of the attractions at Bullring this summer and upload your photo to www.bullringsummerinthecity.com.

The recreation of Paris is just one part of Bullring’s summer activity, which also includes a mini New York and a Madrid-themed amphitheatre. From July 27 to August 16, the centre of the city will be transformed into Paris, New York and Madrid, each with themed events and activities.

Tim Walley commented: “We are aiming to bring the style, culture and fashions of these inspirational cities to the people of the West Midlands. From the sophistication of Paris to the attitude of New York and the passion of Madrid, Bullring is at the centre of world style this summer.”
