Self Assembly project, Coventry

Self Assembly Exhibition
Ikea Coventry 3- 14 September

A unique project called Self Assembly brings unusual approaches to design and re-invention to Coventry. On 3-14 September, Ikea Coventry will be hosting an exhibition of artworks that use Ikea products in comic and imaginative ways. Five artists will be creating sculptures, furniture and even costumes from Ikea vast range of products. Taking part in the show are Rachael Elwell, Jonny O’Hanlon, Janet Vaughan, and Vortex Creates.

At the Self Assembly Project Space at 35 City Arcade, Coventry you can see further artists - Matt Boynton, Ryan Gibbins, Louise Taylor, Mark Hancock, Josh Hancock experimenting with materials and reinventing household products. The Self Assembly Project Space will be open to the public 25 August-27 September. To close Self Assembly, a special opening of all the work created in the project takes place at the Project Space on Friday 25 September, 4-8pm. as part of the festival A Thing About Machines.
