Christmas Dinner with Tim Witherspoon - 10th December

Christmas Dinner with Tim Witherspoon

Former World Heavyweight champion Tim Witherspoon is the special guest at a christmas dinner event show to mark the the outstanding career of the man they dubbed, Terrible.

Tim will be holding court at the star city casino show bar at the star city complex nr Aston on December 10th to talk to awaiting boxing fans about the life he had in the ring and what he has done since retiring.

Big Tim is a GB fan and loves this country and often pops over here but rarely attends dinner shows but has agreed to do so on this one as his old mate Joe Egan is also guesting alongside him on the night.

Tim early in his career briefly worked as a sparring partner for Gerry Cooney. He claims to have lasted just three days because when he bloodied his nose, they told him to take a walk.

In 1983, Terrible Tim fought Larry Holmes for the World Heavyweight Championship and lost by a twelve-round split decision. The following year he defeated Greg Page by a twelve-round majority decision to win the vacant WBC Heavyweight Title. In his first defense, Tim lost it by dropping a twelve-round majority decision to Pinklon Thomas.

1986 saw Witherspoon defeat Tony Tubbs by a fifteen-round majority decision to win the WBA Heavyweight Title. He successfully defended it with an eleventh-round TKO of Frank Bruno, but lost it in his second defense when he was stopped in the first round by James (Bonecrusher) Smith.

In all Tim had a record of 69 fights with 55 wins, 38 wins by KO, holding just 1 draw.

Tim is a very much meet and great champion who loves boxing fans and with Joe there to nobody will have a bad night.

Also on the night is cabaret of both the rat pack and a Robbie Williams tribute. A stand up comedian and a 3 course xmas meal all for £50.00 a ticket
