Poetry

I received a lovely note from Margaret Trumper of Water Orton this week who thanked me for publishing her poem, The Pear Tree in the Garden, a few months ago. Margaret added "Thank you so much for printing my little poem and your lovely comments, at the age of 90 years, it means a lot".

I am therefore delighted to say that she has sent us a seasonal follow-up, entitled Autumn. I am certain we will all relate to Margaret's description of this moody but beautiful time of year for the English countryside.

Poetry

by Margaret Trumper

Autumn

Fruitful trees, soft sunlight peeping through,
Hedge rows rich with blackberries,
Brings joy to me and you.

It is Autumn, a time that brings much pleasure,
A time to pause and remember, moments we can treasure.

Soon the leaves will golden be,
falling gently from each tree.

The rustling leaves of red and gold
are joy and beauty to behold.

Live Autumn to the full,
It has many moods, and is never dull.
